Public content first
The app is intended for saving content that is already publicly available — news clips, public videos, your own posts, content licensed under Creative Commons, and similar material.
Please read this before you start downloading. It only takes a minute, and it matters.
VideoSaver is a general-purpose tool. You are responsible for how you use it. Here are the ground rules we ask every user to respect.
The app is intended for saving content that is already publicly available — news clips, public videos, your own posts, content licensed under Creative Commons, and similar material.
If a post, story or video belongs to someone else and is not public, please obtain that person’s explicit permission before saving it. Never download or share another person’s private content without their consent.
Most videos are copyrighted. Saving a personal copy may be fine for offline viewing in some regions, but redistributing, re-uploading or monetising someone else’s work without a licence is not. When in doubt, ask the creator.
VideoSaver is meant for personal, non-commercial use. Do not use it to build a competing service, train commercial AI models on third-party content, or resell downloaded media.
Do not use the app to bypass paywalls, DRM, geographic restrictions or account-based access controls. If a site requires a paid subscription to view content, that subscription is required.
You are solely responsible for complying with the terms of service of the platforms you download from and the laws of your country. The app is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind.
VideoSaver is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook or any other platform. All trademarks and brand names belong to their respective owners.
VideoSaver is built for people who want a simple, reliable way to keep an offline copy of videos they have the right to save — their own posts, public content, news clips they intend to cite, or material they have licensed or been given permission to use.
Anything that is openly published to the public web is generally safe to save for personal viewing. Even then, you should not repost, re-upload or commercially redistribute the content without the creator’s permission.
Private, friends-only, member-only or paid content is different. Before saving such content you must obtain explicit consent from the owner — saving someone else’s private story or post and sharing it elsewhere can violate their privacy and may be illegal in your jurisdiction.
This page is not legal advice. Copyright and privacy laws differ by country. When in doubt about whether you are allowed to save or share a particular piece of content, please consult a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction or simply ask the original creator.
